The Ducan Diet’s daily menu uses protein foods, a weight loss technique named after its creator, French doctor Pierre Ducan. This plan was formulated thirty years ago, but it was not until the publication of Ducan's work "I Can't Lose Weight" in 2002 that this diet gained the greatest popularity.

At the end of the last century, people believed that the best way to get rid of excess weight was based on a diet that restricted calories and food consumption. French general practitioner Pierre Ducan came up with another way to solve the problem of obesity-the Ducan diet, whose daily menu should include protein food and certain vegetables.
The Ducan plan is based on the so-called ketogenic diet. Its principle is that the body of a dieter does not get carbohydrates separately from food, he must use an additional source of energy, in this case, it is his own accumulated fat. As they split, ketone bodies are formed, which actually releases the necessary energy.
Everything seems to be fine-the body receives energy while getting rid of unnecessary fat. In addition, the daily menu of the Ducan diet involves the use of sufficient amounts of food that will not make you hungry and allow you to comply with nutrition rules not only at home but also in the workplace.
Polish scientists conducted a scientific experiment involving overweight women. As a result, it turns out that following the rules of a carbohydrate-free diet does help to lose excess weight.
However, not everything is that simple. The fact is that, first, the body is used to consume glycogen in the liver, and then it starts to break down fat, that is to say, the ketosis process starts after the liver reserves are empty. Moreover, its success directly depends on the production of insulin.
Don't forget that dieting can cause too much protein in the body, which can cause extra stress on certain organs, especially the kidneys and liver. This weight loss method has another disadvantage-the body does not consume enough fiber, which may disrupt the digestive process and cause constipation.
In order to eliminate these troubles, it is recommended to lose weight according to the Dukan method only in preliminary consultation with the doctor and under his supervision.
Dukan's diet: one menu per day, one table of food recommended by the author
The famous Ducan diet, daily menu and recommended food list included in the food looks like this:
- Milk and dairy products-low-fat cheese, fermented baked milk, yogurt, slightly salted goat cheese, yogurt;
- Fish and other seafood-squid, shrimp, scallops, crayfish, etc. ;
- Poultry and rabbit meat. You can use beef and veal;
- Vegetables-beets, cucumbers, herbs, radishes, cabbage, onions, peppers, eggplant, zucchini, squash;
- Quail eggs or eggs.

- The first one is attack
This weight loss phase aims to lose weight quickly (about three kilograms per week). Similar effects during attacks are usually not explained by the reduction of fat deposits, but by the fluid excreted from the body. The main goal of the first part of the Ducan diet is to strengthen the motivation for further weight loss, and its daily menu does not include the use of carbohydrate-rich foods.
The next stage of the task is to gradually reach the optimal weight by adding protein products and allowed vegetables to the menu. The duration of the second phase is approximately 7 days per kilogram of overweight. All products included in this meal are selected in accordance with the implementation rules of "Ducan Diet, Daily Menu". Dukan’s diet, the daily menu developed in the final stage of consolidation, to rule out the possibility of further weight gain, becomes less strict. During the integration of results, the food menu may include cheese, certain types of bread, and certain fruits for each subsequent day. In addition, the author of the diet allows several so-called "stomach holidays" to be arranged several times a week, that is, to pamper yourself with small portions of high-calorie foods. The duration of the consolidation phase should be about ten days per kilogram of excess weight loss. According to the Ducan method, in the second and third phases of weight loss, a person will lose about 400 grams a week, which refutes the rumors of rapid burning of excess fat.
In the fourth stage, the Dukan diet, in the continuation of the first three stages, the daily menu is subject to major restrictions, allowing the use of almost all foods, subject to certain rules:
- Every 7 days, make a pure protein day, that is, on this day, the menu should not contain foods rich in fat and carbohydrates;
- Oat bran should be included in your daily diet;
Pay attention to increasing physical activity. If you can't practice in the gym, you can always make time for jogging or walking. Or, refuse to take the elevator and walk a few stops a day.
The final stage of weight loss according to the Dukan method should last until a person wants to stay in shape and not overweight, that is, it is recommended to follow these rules for life.
